35th Upper Broughton Art Show 14 & 15 October 2017

This site supports the documentation and activities of the Art Show held each year in October in aid of Village Hall funds

2017 saw the 35th running of the Upper Broughton Art Show. We had an extremely successful exhibition this year. Our Annual Exhibition attracts a wide range of artists from the Midlands and beyond and is the major fund raiser for keeping our Village Hall in such good condition. Being on the main A606 road we attract a large number of people over the weekend. We have an excellent website and also a Facebook page.

The 2017 Art Show was the most successful and profitable in our 35 year history. Many thanks to all who helped, exhibited, organised and supported the show.

Upper Broughton Village Hall is situated on the A606, the main Nottingham to Melton Mowbray road. It is on the opposite side of the road to the Golden Fleece pub and about 50 yards towards Melton Mowbray. If you are using sat nav, the postcode is LE14 3BD.
And new this year… We are delighted to announce that the Fourwalls Gallery in Melton Mowbray will be offering selected artists the opportunity to display their work in the gallery.

Below is a quote from one of the artists who contacted us following the show:

Very well organised and very professional - Exhibiting artist 2016

…I'd just like to say a word or two of appreciation for the Art Show this year.

I was exhibitions secretary for the Essex Art Club so I have a modest experience of putting art shows on.  It is a lot of work and requires people to work together in a productive way.

Upper Broughton have got it pretty well cracked.  Your systems as experienced at the artist's end is excellent - enough information without too much.  The Private View is the best I have attended as was said at the end of your show "it could be seen as cakes and refreshments with an art show attached".

You have a brilliant team to put the pictures up (not so long to take them down - but well displayed given the space available.  And clearly your publicity is outstanding.  And there are all the other odd jobs done by the unseen helpers…..all in all quite outstanding.  You even ensure the prizes are modest but greatly appreciated.
